*MUNCHIE MANIA – STUDY: 28% of Delivery Drivers Have Eaten
According to the survey of 2,015 Americans, some of which identified as having worked as a deliverer for at least one food delivery app, 20% of consumers suspect that their driver has eaten some of their food, which is charitable considering 28% of delivery drivers confessed to nibbling on an order here and there. Fifty-four percent of these said they simply couldn’t resist the smell. The paranoia has become so pervasive, 85% of consumers are pulling for restaurants to employ tamper-evident labels to effectively address the issue.
In a relatively short period of time, digital delivery has become the predominant mode of service. The average person oscillates between two food delivery apps, Grubhub and Uber Eats reigning chief amongst these, with a median usage reported at roughly three times per month.
Popularity and competition inquire consistency on behalf of suppliers. The average respondent is willing to wait 40 minutes tops, then it’s on to the next dealer. Before you appraise consumer demands too harshly, it should be noted that more than half of those surveyed (54%) agreed that delivery drivers are more deserving of tips than restaurant workers; hopefully, the 60% of delivery drivers queried that said the worst part of their job is the awful tips can take solace in good intentions.
*Trump Called ‘Racist’ For Saying Baltimore Is ‘Rat’ ‘Infested.’ But PBS Aired Documentary Confirming Trump’s Comments:
The media worked overtime on Saturday to paint President Donald Trump as a racist for tweeting about the conditions in the district in West Baltimore represented by Democratic Congressman Elijah Cummings (D-MD). CNN’s Victor Blackwell, for example, lashed out at Trump for suggesting Baltimore was “infested” with rats, claiming the infestation language from Trump was some racist code for black and brown people. “‘Infested.’ That’s usually reserved for references to rodents and insects, but we’ve seen the president invoke ‘infestation’ to criticize lawmakers before. You see a pattern here?” he said on-air, nearly in tears.
However, PBS aired a documentary called “Rat Film” about the troubled city last year, detailing the issues the president highlighted about Baltimore. The documentary, as one might suspect, was not condemned as “racist” when it was aired. “‘Rat Film,’ a documentary that takes the decades-long fight waged against Baltimore’s rat population and uses it as a lens through which to look at how the city has addressed myriad social issues over the decades, airs tonight on PBS,” The Baltimore Sun reported in February 2018.
The docu, created by Baltimore filmmaker Theo Anthony, was “a crowd favorite” at Maryland’s Film Festival, according to the news outlet.” A longer version of Anthony’s film played at the festival, as well as at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Parkway in September. In chronicling Baltimore’s decades-long battle against its unwelcome rodent population, Anthony details some disturbing parallels with the ways city leaders have tried to deal with various urban situations,” The Baltimore Sun notes.
*Number Of British Prisoners Claiming They Are Transgender Explodes:
There’s a growing trend in Great Britain: prisoners in jail deciding that they are transgender. As christian.org.uk reports, “One in 50 male offenders in prisons say they are transgender, according to a survey by the Inspectorate of Prisons.” The Chief Inspector of Prisons, Peter Clarke, said there could be as many as 1,500 prisoners claiming they are transgender in England and Wales, at least ten times the previous estimate. He commented, “Sometimes we find the numbers of people identifying as transgender are higher in our survey than the prison will think.” Chair of the Prison Officers Association Mark Fairhurst speculated there “would always be some trying to abuse the system.”
There are definite advantages to claiming you are transgender if you are in a British prison; separate showers, single cells, and the choice of whether you’d like to be incarcerated in a male or female prison. The Telegraph noted, “The watchdog’s survey of 5,133 British prisoners found two per cent self identified as transgender or transexual, rising to 10 per cent of the 287 traveller offenders surveyed. Extrapolated across the prison service, this would mean about 1,500.”
*SAN FRAN SPIRAL: BART Elevator Attendants Attempt to Stop Urinators:
Over the years, BART has tried a variety of strategies to keep people from behaving badly in station elevators (including one memorable poster campaign in which sad, anthropomorphized elevators dolefully declared, “I’m not a bathroom”). But the most successful seems to be a pilot program, launched at the Civic Center and Powell Street stations April 30, 2018, stationing attendants in the elevators. The results were so positive, the BART board voted to double the number of stations with elevator attendants at a Thursday meeting.
The program led to a drop in reports of elevators being “intentionally soiled” and improved elevator conditions for people who use wheelchairs, people with strollers and seniors, according to Assistant Superintendent of System Service David Coggshall. “It no longer smells like an outhouse,” one elevator rider effused via comment card after the program launched.
*DANGER – Mexico Sets 1st Half Murder Record, up 5.3%:
Mexico set a new record for homicides in the first half of the year as the number of murders grew by 5.3% compared to the same period of 2018, fueled partly by cartel and gang violence in several states. Mexico saw 3,080 killings in June, an increase of over 8% from the same month a year ago, according to official figures. The country of almost 125 million now sees as many as 100 killings per day nationwide. The 17,608 killings in the first half of 2019 is the most since comparable records began being kept in 1997, including the peak year of Mexico’s drug war in 2011. Officials said 16,714 people were killed in the first half of 2018.
In particular, drug cartel turf wars have become increasingly bloody in the northern state of Sonora, where the number of homicides was up by 69% in the first half of the year. But in Sinaloa, where the cartel of convicted drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman is based, homicides declined by 23% so far this year compared to last.
*Mild Sauce, Clear Mind? Spicy Diet Linked To Dementia, Study Finds:
Here’s something to consider the next time you’re thinking about ordering a spicy dish: a new long-term international study has found that a spicy diet could lead to dementia. According to the study, older adults over the age of 55 who consumed more than 50 grams of chili per day displayed nearly double the risk of developing poor cognition and a decline in overall memory. Interestingly, slimmer adults indulging in a spicy diet exhibited even more significant memory loss.

Dr. Srini Pillay, Best-Selling Author, Examines the Existence of “Linked Fate”
Although most of the public isn’t aware of the term “Linked Fate,” it is something researchers have been intensely studying over recent years. Currently, it’s used to describe how someone may perceive that what happens to members of their own racial or ethnic group actually affects themselves. It was originally used to explain persistent Democratic voting bloc patterns among black Americans. More recently it has been used to examine how closely connected black Americans feel toward one another and how they feel between and among other racial groups.
“People within certain groups identify more with one another than others,” explains Dr. Srini Pillay, best-selling author and established neuroscientist, “In 2016, political science professor Gabriel Sanchez and public affairs Ph.D. Edward Vargasexplained that this phenomenon of “linked fate” is not equal across all races. It is more powerful in African Americans than in Non-Hispanic Whites, Hispanics, and Asian populations.”
Srini Pillay M.D. is a Harvard-trained psychiatrist, brain researcher, certified master executive coach, technology entrepreneur and musician. He is regarded as a pioneer in the field of transformational neurocoaching and has been extensively featured in the media including CNN, Fox, The New York Times, The Boston Globe, Forbes and Fortune. He is an award-winning author of multiple books and an in-demand keynote speaker. His most recent book is “Tinker Dabble Doodle Try: Unlock the Power of the Unfocused Mind”.

*EXAMINER – COMMENTARY by Alan Dershowitz:
Having been contacted by New Yorker “fact” checkers, I now understand the thrust of Connie Bruck’s hit piece: You must know there is no actual evidence that I engaged in sexual misconduct or even met my false accusers — because I did not. So, you appear determined to concoct a false narrative of my life, going back more than 40 years to my first marriage, that falsely suggests that I am the kind of person who “could” or “might” have engaged in such misconduct. To support your false narrative, you began your negative “research” – as you acknowledged to my son — by sourcing a Holocaust denial site that circulates false stories about prominent Jews, including me. You then interviewed my enemies, my critics, dissenting students and especially anti-Israel and, in some cases anti-Semitic, zealots. The original reporting, which took place over many months, did not include interviews with longtime friends and associates who know me well and can present a more balanced perspective. You agreed to speak to a handful of such people only at the last minute, after I complained to the editor. But even then when some people called you, you told them the story was closed. Let’s see if you include the positive comments that contradict your story, that some of these people relayed to you.
You have even refused to interview me face-to-face. When your negative sources are dead or unwilling to be interviewed, you have quoted decades old adversarial court documents that contain false information that you believe is protected by the litigation privilege. You report old, negative articles about me even though they are based on false information. You don’t seem to care whether the information is provably false, as long as you are protected from a lawsuit. Most importantly you are apparently refusing to include in your one-sided screed information that undercuts your false narrative that I and others have provided you.
